Under-12 CSL Conboyne Cup
28th April 2026 at Ballyadam
Carrigtwohill United – 4
Corinthians C – 2
First Half
Carrigtwohill lined out with Colm Ó Murchú in goal; defenders Antoni Kadula, Adam Lane, Oscar Connolly, Lorcan Thornhill, and Rian McGovern; a midfield trio of Ronan Doyle, Cesc Matarin, and Ajus Lepeska; and a strong set of wide and attacking options in Ariel Lembelembe, John Buckley, Mati Majchrzak, Charley O’Sullivan, Chiemekam Emeakaroha, and Oscar Mazur.
Carrig started brightly and took control early. The opener came when Rian McGovern threaded a superb pass into Ariel Lembelembe, who finished calmly to make it 1–0.
The second goal was a brilliant team move. John Buckley won the ball high up the pitch and fed Antoni Kadula, who drove forward and fired a ball across the box. Chiemekam Emeakaroha arrived perfectly and guided his finish into the corner for 2–0.
Before halftime, Carrig struck again. John Buckley broke down the right and squared the ball to Chiemy, who timed his run perfectly and slotted home his second of the evening, giving Carrigtwohill a commanding 3–0 lead at the break.
Second Half
Corinthian Boys came out strongly after the restart and scored just after halftime, reducing the deficit to 3–1.
Carrig responded superbly. From a Cesc Matarin corner, Ronan Doyle made a powerful run into the box and met the delivery with a bullet header, restoring Carrig’s cushion at 4–1.
Corinthian Boys kept pushing and grabbed their second goal with 15 minutes to go, making it 4–2, but Carrig showed great composure and discipline to see out the match.
Across the pitch — from Colm’s handling, to the defensive work of Antoni, Adam, Oscar, Lorcan, and Rian, to the midfield graft of Ronan, Cesc, and Ajus, and the constant threat from Ariel, John, Mati, Charley, Chiemy, and Oscar Mazur — the lads showed real maturity to close out the win and advance to the next round.
