Under-13A Girls CWSSL Division4
17th May 2026 at Ballyadam
Carrigtwohill United A – 2
Carrigaline United B – 1
The girls had 2 tough fixtures this week which would go some way to defining their season.
First up was a really difficult away trip to Strand last Tuesday evening. With only 1 player present and 15 minutes to go, it was a manic warm-up as players hurriedly arrived after suffering through the rush-hour cross city traffic. Thanks again to those parents that had to go through this ordeal
Playing with the wind, super striker Sadie bagged 2 class goals and could have had another 2 as the Carrigtwohill girls dominated the opening half and kept Strand pinned in their own half. The second half was always going to be a different story, but it was now the turn of the back line to be strong and Aisling, Robyn, Searliath and Aoibhinn locked out the home side who did nick one but never looked like overturning the Carrigtwohill lead.
And so it was back to Ballyadam on Sunday morning to host Carrigaline United who we were very familiar with having had close games over the last number of years.
What delighted the coaches most of all was that the girls were energised from the very beginning. Sadie continued from Tuesday night with threatening runs. Robyn, now leading the defence alongside Saoirse was immense and dominated that area and Amy, returning from injury was quickly back up to speed. Searlaith, who was asked to do a tough job in the backline always on top of the challenge.
Kaitlin, who was her ever busy self, scored two super goals, a super strike from the edge of the box to the right corner in the first half and a niffy goal in a busy penalty box in the second.
It was however the midfield trio of EmmaOC, Kate and EmmaQ who carried the team to victory with each putting in a season best performance to nullify the visitors in midfield and provide the forward momentum for our strike force.
With just one more match left this season, back to back victories puts the girls in a strong mid-table position and just reward for what has been an excellent season to date.
