We are delighted that EirGrid has come on board to support our new Astro pitch project. We have 24 teams, but they only played 2 matches at home this past January and February and we owe it to our players both now and the future to deliver suitable facilities to allow them develop and enjoy their sport.
EirGrid is responsible for managing the national electricity grid and they seek to build a better future for all of us by providing reliable stable electricity to power our modern lives. Currently, they are working to interconnect the Irish and French electricity grids, and this project’s new converter station is at Ballyadam, just alongside our grounds.
Our new Astro pitch is first and foremost a community project and communities depend on everyone working together. EirGrid joins our other neighbouring businesses to support our project and they wish to help us to make Carrigtwohill a better place to live and work. We are volunteers, and it is heartening to see the business community backing our project and wishing to help improve the facilities in the local area that we all share.
