The Under-17 girls recently came together for a lovely end-of-season evening of pizza, presentations, and appreciation as they celebrated another fantastic year together.
A special thank you and token of appreciation was presented to two people who have played such an important role in the journey of this team — Colm and Dave.
To Colm — what was never meant to be a long-term role became one of incredible commitment and dedication. When no one else stepped forward, Colm took on the team, initially as a temporary solution, but over the years he became so much more to the girls. Through his hard work, encouragement, and belief in the squad, he helped build not only stronger footballers, but stronger young women. Under his guidance, the girls achieved remarkable success, winning four league titles and climbing from Division 3 all the way to the Premier Division. His contribution to this group cannot be overstated, and the girls are incredibly grateful for everything he has done for them over the years.
To Dave — thank you for stepping in this year and making such a positive impact on the team. Your energy, encouragement, and inspirational approach have helped the girls continue to grow and thrive. You came into a panel of strong young women and helped bring them even further forward, both on and off the pitch. Your commitment and positivity have meant so much to the squad, and the girls truly appreciate all your hard work throughout the season.
The evening also included recognition for some individual achievements within the squad:
• Player of the Year – Amelia Sheehan
• Players’ Player of the Year – Anna Madden
• Young Player of the Year – Caoimhe Egan
A wonderful evening to celebrate a brilliant group of girls, their achievements, friendships, and the people who helped guide them along the way.
