9th June 2026 at Ballyadam

Carrigtwohill United A – 1
Coachford – 1

A very well organised Coachford travelled to ballyadam to finish out their season in the CSBL DIV 7 league

It was Coachford who came out the blocks faster , and to their credit were well in control for the 1st quarter. Although limited in chances their passing,  control and composure on the ball was very impressive and looked like a total different team that we previously played.
Carrigtwohill were finding it hard to hold or keep control of the ball , again limited in chances to scott and alonzo .

The introduction of Ryan and Ollie in midfield gave us a massive boost of energy and drive, with Ryan making some excellent runs and we were  now getting hold of the game and had a great 10 mins of play.
Ryan again with a great run and shot which looked over the line but was deemed to be cleared off the line.
At the other end we still seemed nervous but Julian again pulled off some excellent saves .

Half Time:
Carrigtwohill: 0
Coachford : 0

The second half started better and was more even throughout.
Carrig now getting on more ball , closing down and putting in the tackles and not leaving Coachford time on the ball .
Chances fell to both sides , with again Scott, Rian , Liam,  josh, alonzo and krystian with shots but no real clear chances.
After failing to clear our lines , a deflected effort fell to the coachford striker who finished well past Julian to take the lead.
Not for the 1st time this season it took this blow of going behind to really get us going .
There was a renewed energy,  Kuba, Dylan, isaac, Tom O and especially Krystian starting to drive out of defence and more composed on the ball and with their passing.
The midfield of Rian, Tom P, ollie and Ryan now starting to dominate,  ciaran again full of running was starting to get the crosses in on the right,  and alonzo on the left working hard.
Josh also had a few runs at goals and unlucky with his chances.
Scott as usual working hard   and doing an excellent job holding up the ball and switching the play .
A lot of our last 15min pressure was coming on the left and especially Liam who was involved in nearly every phase or pressure attack .
He was now running at his man , cutting in , some excellent crosses and had 2 or 3 shots on goal,  and very unlucky not to be awarded a penalty.

But again Coachford pressed and with an excellent shot from their striker, somehow, Julian pulled of what can only be described as a world class save, got down so early to stop it on the line and with onrushing player,  he managed to get both hands on the ball to secure it , a phenomenal save 👏
Into the last 7 mins , again it was Liam who made a great run on the left,  supplying scott who laid off to Tom O whose shot was saved but on his second effort found the back of the net to wild celebrations.
Carrig kept going, trying to get Liam on as much ball as possible but time ran out for a hard fought 1:1 draw .

Last week we secured promotion and this point now confirms 2nd place and a runners up medal at least
🏅
Outstanding effort lads 👏 👏 👏

MOTM:
Some great displays when needed ,Ryan 1st half and Liam just brilliant in the last quarter but our MOTM is
