Carrigtwohill travelled to Buttevant knowing that a win would keep us firmly in the hunt for the league title,  anything less and our hosts would be crowned champions 🏆 

 

On a miserable night , it was an even enough encounter from the off. 

The lads adapted well  and we used the small pitch to our advantage with Tom O Sullivans kick out landing well into their half .

Buttevant had a few half chances within the 1st quarter but it was Carrigtwohill who had the biggest chance when  a beautiful free kick from Tom was met with a Krystian bullet of a header which came crashing off the post .

 

Buttevant slightly better on the ball at times found the opener when coming in off the right and there strike took a slight deflection into the bottom corner

Second half continued in same manner , great tackling,  commitment and drive from both sides knowing what was at stake 

For Carrigtwohill the most frustrating part was with equal amount of possession we did not have one shot in the second half. Again using Tom's massive kick outs the most disappointing part was  not challenging enough of them, just seemed we were not taking advantage of them.

Carrigtwohill continued as always , Julian again pulled off a massive save , kuba , Dylan,  Krystian and Tom O very solid , our wingers of ciarán, alonzo and Liam  continued to battle throughout and the  tight pitch limiting their ability to make runs which is a huge part of our game .

Ollie , tom p and Ryan again full of energy with josh and scott working hard to get an equaliser.

 

With that the full time whistle went to the delight of the big Buttevant crowd. 

 

Congrats to buttevant,  a fine team who are well set up and coached and well deserved champions 👏 

 

As for Carrigtwohill,  we gave it everything throughout the year , and will gladly take 2nd spot 

 

Next up is the semi final of the  Kevin Dillon Cup Saturday morning , would be great to see support like Buttevant got tonight
