First Half

Ballincollig started the brighter of the two sides, enjoying good spells of possession and probing attacks, though without seriously testing Carrigtwohill's defence. In goal, Oscar Mazur was alert throughout and cleaned up superbly behind the defensive line whenever danger threatened. In front of him, the back four of Tommy Lilley, Adam Lane, Antoni Kadula, and Oscar Connolly stood firm, well supported by Ronan Doyle and Charley O'Sullivan screening effectively in midfield.

Carrigtwohill created good opportunities on the counterattack. From a corner, Adam Lane rose highest to flick on a header that found Ariel Lembelembe, whose looping effort drifted narrowly across the face of goal. Moments later, a powerful run from Ariel created an opening for Rayan Alvi on the edge of the penalty area, but his shot was dragged just wide of the left post.

Further forward, Mati Majchrzak, Frank Krysiak, and Jan Szalonik worked tirelessly to close space and support the press, while Chiemekam Emeakaroha provided an important outlet, holding the ball up well and helping launch counterattacks.

It was a disciplined and organised opening 30 minutes from Carrigtwohill, with the sides going into the break level at 0-0 despite the visitors creating the best chances of the half.

 

Second Half

Ballincollig broke the deadlock on 35 minutes when a cleared ball dropped kindly to a home attacker, who rifled an unstoppable effort just beneath the crossbar. It was a strike that would have beat any goalkeeper at this age level.

Just two minutes later, the home side doubled their advantage. Following a Carrigtwohill throw-in, Ballincollig broke quickly down the left flank. A couple of missed tackles and an unfortunate bounce allowed their forward to race through one-on-one with the goalkeeper, and he finished calmly to make it 2-0.

To their credit, Carrigtwohill responded positively and looked dangerous down both wings. Chiemy produced an excellent run down the right before delivering a precise cross into the box for Mati, whose first-time effort was brilliantly saved by the Ballincollig goalkeeper.

Ballincollig remained a threat on the counter and struck the crossbar during one such attack, but Carrigtwohill continued to push forward in search of a way back into the game. Frank drove forward on the right and found Rayan in the centre, but his effort flashed just over the crossbar.

With virtually the last kick of the game, Ballincollig were awarded a free kick on the edge of the penalty area and made no mistake, curling the ball home to complete the 3-0 scoreline.

 

Match Summary

There was plenty for Carrigtwohill to be proud of despite the result. A disciplined and well-organised first-half display kept a strong Ballincollig side scoreless for 30 minutes, while the team's response after falling behind demonstrated real character, resilience, and belief.

At the heart of that effort were Adam Lane, Antoni Kadula, Ronan Doyle and Charley O’Sullivan who were outstanding throughout. They won countless challenges, broke up attacks repeatedly, and showed tremendous bravery in putting their bodies on the line for the team.

The scoreline arguably does not reflect the overall performance. On another day, Carrigtwohill's chances may well have produced a different outcome, but the commitment, structure, and determination shown throughout the match were a credit to the entire squad.

Adam's dominance in first-ball situations, composure in possession, and outstanding defensive work made him the standout performer on the day. His consistency at the back was a key factor in Carrigtwohill's strong overall display.
