This was the Under-13 girls first league game on full size pitch and goals didn’t disappoint.   

Carrigtwohill took the early lead from a great piece of work by Kaitlin driving forward and finishing herself, this was quickly followed by a great finish from Oliva C giving Carrig a 2 goal advantage at half time. 

Credit to Strand they didnt give up and took the score back to 2-2 inside 15 minutes of the second half. 

Before Carrig conceding a third to go behind keeper Evelyn made a vital save which she followed up with an equally impressive stop after the 3rd with both stops proving vital to the finishing scoreline. 

Aware that first season on full pitches are awash with goals both ends of the pitch Carrig never dropped their heads and got back to work.

Lucy levelled the game with an impressive clinical finish which left both teams battling for a winner. 

After a couple of near misses from Carrig they got their reward with 30 seconds remaining when Saoirse slotted home the winner from inside the box. 

Great Goals & Saves aside the defensive work rate of the whole team especially midfield duo Amelia & Jessica got the 3pts over the line, everyone chasing every ball down making life difficult for the opposition.

A fine start to the season!
