13th September 2026 – Ballyadam Park

Following Tuesday’s 4-3 league win at Ballyadam, the U13 girls were once again at home this Sunday for their second league game of the season.

Replicating Tuesday’s fast start, Carrigtwohill quickly found themselves two goals to the good, with Lucy opening the scoring after just two minutes. Olivia C. quickly followed up, finding the back of the net in the fourth minute to make it 2-0.

Not distracted by the good start, the girls carried on about their business, working extremely hard in surprisingly warm conditions, chasing balls down and keeping their shape.

What might appear from the final score to have been a quiet day defensively was anything but. The back line, along with goalkeeper Evelyn, put in a very structured and disciplined performance that will stand them in good stead for the tougher fixtures ahead.

The team’s concentration and composure were rewarded right on half-time when Kaitlin calmly slotted home Carrigtwohill’s third goal.

To their credit, the Carrig team showed the same work ethic and concentration throughout the entire second half, adding another three goals. Saoirse completed a hat-trick, scoring in the 35th, 40th and 51st minutes, demonstrating that the team remained focused and committed to the task from start to finish.

There will undoubtedly be tougher tests to come, but six points from two games inside a week is a fantastic start and a fine reason for the team to celebrate in the dressing room afterwards, led by coach Brooke!
