Carrigtwohill welcomed Springfield Ramblers to Ballyadam on Saturday morning for their Division 6 league encounter.

The boys knew it was vital to continue their recent good form and follow up with another impressive performance to keep the momentum going after their previous two games.

Carrigtwohill started the better of the two teams and, after 10 minutes, it was Josh who drove forward, beat his man and gave us a deserved lead with a fine finish.

Carrigtwohill were by far the better team in the first half, and not long after it was Josh again who rounded the keeper and slotted home to make it 2-0.

Throughout the first half, Carrigtwohill were solid from Julian in goals right through to Scott in attack, with everyone working extremely hard and keeping Ramblers at bay.

With a strong wind behind them in the second half, we knew Ramblers would come out fighting, and that is exactly what they did from the off.

Although they enjoyed a lot of possession, they were limited in terms of clear chances, with Julian pulling off two fine saves to keep Carrigtwohill's clean sheet intact.

Carrigtwohill had further chances through Alonzo and Josh, but the lads held strong, withstanding all the pressure thrown at them to keep a clean sheet and secure a well-fought and deserved victory.

A deserved joint award for Josh and Scott, who worked so well together throughout the game. Josh contributed two fine goals, while Scott's overall play upfront was excellent and caused problems for the Ramblers defence throughout.
