Carrigtwohill United made a flying start at home and took a deserved 2–0 lead into half-time.

On 18 minutes, Oscar Connolly found Ariel Lembelembe down the left, and Ariel's looping effort found the far post before nestling in the net to put Carrigtwohill ahead. Just four minutes later, the lead was doubled. John Buckley latched onto a pass from Mati Majchrzak, outpaced the Wilton defence and went one-on-one with the keeper before calmly rounding him and finishing neatly.

At the other end, Colm Ó Murchú marshalled the goal well, while Tommy Lilley, Adam Lane, Antoni Kadula, Oscar Connolly and Rian McGovern formed a strong back line that gave Wilton very little away. In midfield, Charley O'Sullivan, Ronan Doyle, Mati Majchrzak, Frank Krysiak, Ariel Lembelembe and John Buckley worked hard to link the play, with two of that group getting on the scoresheet. Up front, Chiemekam Emeakaroha and Oscar Mazurkept the Wilton defence occupied as Carrigtwohill continued to create chances.

Wilton came out strongly after the break and got themselves back into the game on 45 minutes, breaking in behind the Carrigtwohill defence to make it 2–1. Just five minutes later, Wilton were awarded a penalty and converted to bring the game level at 2–2.

Both sides pushed for a winner in the closing stages, with chances at either end, but neither team could find the decisive goal and the game finished all square.

Oscar put in a tireless performance at both ends of the pitch, defending resolutely while also providing constant support to the attack. His contribution included the assist for Carrigtwohill's opening goal.
