Carrigtwohill United Seniors are still searching for their first league points of the season, but there were further signs of improvement from this young, new-look squad against Bandon AFC at Ballyadam Park.

Having faced all five of the current top-five sides in their opening fixtures, Carrigtwohill will be hoping for a change in fortunes in the coming weeks as they look to get their first points on the board. Captain Ken Murphy got on the scoresheet today, rising highest to head home a well-delivered free kick from Roan O’Keeffe.

Bandon’s second goal, scored just before half-time, proved to be a key moment in the game and ultimately had a major bearing on the outcome. There were also impressive senior debuts for Amos Ebarmamigieor and Noah Nsengiyumva, both of whom made a positive impression on their first appearance at senior level.

Despite the result, the performances continue to show promise, and the first league points of the season will hopefully not be too far away.
