Carrigtwohill United U17A welcomed College Corinthians to Ballyadam Park for the third round of their league campaign, with the lads showing tremendous character in an entertaining 3–3 draw.

Playing against the wind in the first half, Carrigtwohill started brightly, playing controlled football and looking dangerous in attack. After creating a number of chances, JP finally broke the deadlock, getting onto a through ball before calmly lobbing the goalkeeper. He almost doubled his tally soon afterwards, striking the crossbar from 25 yards. Carrigtwohill dominated the half, with Luke excellent in goal and the back four of Paulie, Oisin, Eoghan and Jack looking comfortable in possession while dealing with everything Corinthians could offer. Zac and Charlie were excellent in midfield, while Ryan and Rian worked tirelessly on the wings. Milosz led the line brilliantly on his first start and looked as though he had been playing with the team for seasons.

Corinthians equalised early in the second half, but Carrigtwohill responded immediately, with JP producing a brilliant individual goal to restore the lead. When Corinthians levelled again, the lads showed the same spirit once more, with JP completing his hat-trick to put Carrigtwohill back in front. Odhran, Sam and Mossie were introduced and all made valuable contributions, but unfortunately Corinthians found a third goal to level the game again. Carrigtwohill had one final opportunity to take all three points when JP chipped a ball towards the back post, but Milosz's header was brilliantly saved.

JP's hat-trick naturally earns him the Player of the Match award, but a special mention goes to Zac, who took the captain's armband in Callan's absence and showed real leadership despite having been very ill the previous week.

The lads deserve huge credit for the spirit they showed, responding every time they were pegged back and continuing to create chances to regain the lead. With new U16 players being introduced to the squad and others playing in unfamiliar positions to help the team, the attitude and application from everyone was excellent.
