Following a heavy defeat in the Munster Senior Cup midweek, Carrigtwohill United travelled to Kanturk on a bright Saturday afternoon looking for their first league win of the season, and they weren't to be disappointed.

The visitors were straight out of the blocks, opening the scoring inside three minutes as right winger Ronan Browne found striker Amos Ebarmamigieor with a backheel. Amos held off his man, spun and arrowed a low shot into the bottom corner, giving the Kanturk keeper no chance. Kanturk were back level after 20 minutes when a corner kick from Jack O'Callaghan found Adam Lynch rising highest at the back post to direct a looping header into the net. The home side's lead didn't last long, as Carrigtwohill came right back at them and, in the 30th minute, Cillian McCann played a ball into Paul Browne. His first touch took it slightly away from him, but Browne stretched to poke the ball beyond Aaron McCarthy in goal to make it 2–1 to Carrigtwohill at the break.

The second half saw the visitors dominate affairs, with Amos a constant threat to the Kanturk defence. On another day, he would have had at least a hat-trick, with McCarthy pulling off two class saves and the woodwork also coming to the home side's rescue. Ronan Browne was also denied by McCarthy when it looked certain he would score.

It was a massive win, and with Carrigtwohill being awarded points from a previous game, they now have six points on the board, which sees them jump up to seventh in the table with other results going their way.

The attitude from Carrigtwohill United was spot on today, contesting and winning balls in every area of the pitch. Organisation and communication were key, while the blend of youth and experience gave balance all over the pitch.

The centre-back pairing of Ken Murphy and Cillian McCann were immense, while striker Amos Ebarmamigieorwas a constant handful for the Kanturk defence.
