Corinthians FC - 1
Corinthians FC - 1
Report:
Carrigtwohill united U18s reacted from a bad loss last weekend to snatch a point on the fortress of the seemingly all conquering Corinthians FC who are set to win the premier league with a game or games to spare. Corinthians have 10 players in Cork youth league who have won the Munster Cup and are also in the All-Ireland final. They also have an All-Ireland FAI Youth cup final to look forward to after defeating the best of Dublin teams.

Without fear our lads took the game to them and went ahead in first half against the wind when twice Leroy Mhondiwa tested the keeper with towering headers one of which he followed up to finish a parry back from the keeper. Corinthians later equalised but were constantly frustrated to the end to finish 1:1.
The best on the day were up to 10 players on the pitch with the following ratings.
1. Cillian Murphy 8/10 – Some saves on the day that kept us in the game.
2. Roan O’Keefe – The busiest on the day and stood his ground on an unfamiliar newly found RB position.
3. Edras Makumbi –The best game by his standards but also had hands full like Roan.
4. Denis Sitarek 8/10 – Best passer from the backline with occasional forward surges. Timely interventions.
5. Colm Harte 8/10 – The driver of the ship with a commanding voice from the back
6. Jayden Washeka 9/10 – Talk of quality on the ball, who can nutmeg 2 players in arow without losing the ball.
7. Evan O’Connor 8/10 – Constant nuisance to defenders ever fooling them.
8. Leroy Mhondiwa 8/10 – Ever-present to thwart attacks and a constant aerial threat rewarded with the only goal.
9. Sebastian Korona 8/10 – Talk of improvement, what a first touch and energy to take on defenders as lone striker.
10. Rollie Durango 8/10 – Rejuvenated back to his best helping Seba to take the game to opponents.
11. Leslie Edwards 7.5/10 – The little P that nicks the ball without notice. Typical winger to carry the ball forward from under pressure.
