Carrigtwohill United - 2
Blarney FC - 0

Report:
Carrigtwohill united U18s continued the good form as they comfortably dispatched their bogey side Blarney FC, who surprisingly knocked us out of League cup on penalties early start of the season. Carrigtwohill had a lion share of possession right from the beginning as we struggled to penetrate the crowded backline of Blarney despite few threatening efforts. With 10 mins to go a massive gamble paid off as firstly Colm swapped roles with Leroy going upfront before Osase replaced Leslie, Dominic replaced Evan. With waves and waves of attack with 3 upfront, Carrigtwohill broke the deadlock with 5mins to go courtesy of a glancing header from Osase Aghedo after a good ball in by Roan O’Keeffe.

Few minutes into injury time another super-sub-Alex Kingston who replaced Leroy laid off the ball to Jayden Washeka who took on his man and rounded him off for the second to kill off the game. Alex Kingston subsequently came close to his own goal when he narrowly missed a free kick after Jayden got appended just about going for the third.

The best on the day were the whole team including substitutes. Huge credit goes to Colm Harte and Evan O’Connor who plaid 3 matches in 3 days and still helped the team to progress to the next stage. They won all three in a row. 3:1 in school, 1:0 for seniors away to Kantuck and then 2:0 away to Blarney.

A word of thanks to all the parents and supports who travelled to see the match especially the students from France.

Next awaiting  in this cup is a local derby vs Middleton
